About Us

Gateways Pre-Primary School has a long history in the Walmer area and was establish in 1982. Our little school has continued to offer a high standard of education to the children in our community. Our school places great emphasis on collaboration between parents and staff to see each child reaching their full potential. This is done through open communication and working together to guide and enrich the learning experience for each of our children.

We aim to create a safe and enriched environment in which children feel loved and are encouraged to learn in creative and meaningful ways. We create opportunities for our children to gain independence and express themselves through our Wild About Me programme.

Our children are offered a wide variety of creative and educational learning opportunities through play and exploration, which builds a solid foundation in mathematics, language, and life skills. The learning programmes are based on the CAPS Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements as prescribed by the Department of Education.

Gateways Pre-Primary School nurtures, encourages, and inspires our children to explore and learn from the world around them. Our dedicated, caring, and qualified teachers lead by example as life-long-learners and continue to develop their teaching skills and strategies through training to best serve our children.

Our Mission

Create a nurturing and enriched community in which children are encouraged to develop a curiosity for the world and a love of learning. We appreciate and accept individuality by adopting a holistic approach to learning and play, in order for every child to reach their full potential.
